For two months, 90 mentors have been working with their mentees to support them with the transition into independent living. On Match Day the young people met the mentors for the first time. At a “speed dating” event, they had the opportunity to get to know one other.
At the end of the day each youth chose three adults who they wished to be matched with. The SAYes team will consider those choices.
The first workshops had been held already. During those workshops, young people who successfully finished the TIL Programme shared their experiences with the “rookies.”
The mentors will meet their mentees once a week for at least one hour to help prepare them for their future out of the home. The SAYes team can be very satisfied with the start of this year’s programme. We wish the mentors and their mentees the best of luck during their journey together.
